About Our Language
Sins Invalid reclaims the term “Crip” as a source of power, self-love, and connection to our own bodies and our Crip community.
In Spanish, we use the gender-neutral “e” ending instead of the traditional “a” or “o” ending. We reject the generalized use of masculine language to refer to all of humanity. We reject the idea that everyone should identify as either “man” or “woman” without taking into account the many other possibilities of identifying or not identifying when it comes to gender. We celebrate all people’s right to self-determination, in language and beyond language.
